Congratulations to the Castalian String Quartet, who have just been named YCAT 2016 artists!
Castalian String Quartet, Olivier Stankiewicz, Nika Gorič and Timothy Ridout were chosen this year after a total of 8 finalists were heard, chosen from over 100 applicants in the preliminary rounds.
The Castalian String Quartet will be performing several concerts as part of the 2016 Peasmarsh Chamber Music Festival:

– Ravel String Quartet in F major
– Fauré Piano Quintet No. 2 in C minor, Op. 115 (with Alasdair Beatson)
Saturday 25 June 2016, 6:30 pm, Church of St Peter & St Paul, Peasmarsh
– Onslow String Quintet No. 15 in C minor, Op. 38 ‘The Bullet’ (Sini Simonen and Charlotte Bonneton together with Carmit Zori, Christoph Richter and Richard Lester)
– Jörg Widmann Jagdquartett (String Quartet No. 3)
Sunday 26 June 2016, 11:30 am, Church of St Peter & St Paul, Peasmarsh
– Beethoven String Quartet No. 7 in F major, Op. 59, No. 1
The Castalian String Quartet will also take part in the education programme of the Peasmarsh Chamber Music Festival, running workshops in local schools with music educator Sam Glazer and performing the education concert with the children on Friday 24 June 2016 at 1 pm (free).
